Diamond Edge was created by Matt Hogan — a professional baseball player who's spent his entire life in the game. Matt committed to Vanderbilt University as a high school freshman and by graduation was ranked the No. 1 outfielder in New York.

Over three years at Vanderbilt, Matt earned a National Championship ring with the Commodores. After a year at South Carolina, he transferred to Oral Roberts — where he became the cleanup hitter for the 2023 Cinderella team that punched its ticket to the College World Series in Omaha. That season he hit .320 with 19 home runs and 71 RBIs, earning Third Team All-American honors from the NCBWA. He's also one of only two players in history to hit an inside-the-park home run at the College World Series.

Matt has played baseball in 44 of the 50 states — from the Futures Collegiate League, to two summers in the Northwoods League, to two seasons with the Chatham Anglers on the Cape Cod League. After college he played for the Rocky Mountain Vibes before signing with the Chicago White Sox organization in 2024, where he won Competitor of the Year for the organization. He's currently playing for the Long Island Ducks.

Matt built Diamond Edge because every travel ball family deserves honest, pro-level feedback from someone who actually knows what scouts look for — not a generic algorithm or a weekend clinic coach.

What parents ask first.

Who actually grades my son's evaluation?
Every single Diamond Edge report is reviewed personally by the founder — a former Chicago White Sox minor league player who still plays today. No AI grading, no outsourcing, no interns.
My son is 8. Is this too advanced for him?
Not at all. We built Diamond Edge specifically for ages 7–15, with age-adjusted benchmarks for every tool. An 8-year-old is graded against 8-year-olds, not against teenagers.
Do I need special equipment to get a video?
Just a phone. A 10–20 second clip of your son hitting off a tee or running to first is all we need. We'll guide you through it.
What if my kid isn't that good yet?
That's exactly who this is for. Diamond Edge is built for the middle-tier travel ball family who wants real feedback and a real plan — not for parents who already think their kid is the next MLB star.
Is this a subscription?
No. Every Diamond Edge product is one-time pricing. Pay once, get your report, use it forever.
