The first pro-grade scouting evaluation built for travel ball families. Get your 7–15 year old graded on the same five tools MLB scouts use — and a personalized development plan to get him better.
Every Major League player is evaluated on the same five tools. Diamond Edge brings that framework to youth baseball — so you know exactly where your son is strong and exactly where to work.
Pure contact ability, bat path, pitch recognition, and barrel control at the plate.
Raw strength, exit velocity potential, and the ability to drive the ball with authority.
Home-to-first speed, baserunning instincts, and overall athletic quickness.
Throwing velocity, arm accuracy, and the ability to make plays from any position.
Footwork, glove work, fielding instincts, and reliability in the field.
Three simple steps. No guesswork. Real pro-level evaluation.
Answer 25 honest questions about your son's game — his position, his swing, how he runs, how he throws, and how he competes. Takes about 8 minutes.
Send a short phone video of him hitting, running, or throwing. We watch every single video personally — no AI, no auto-grading.
Receive a full scouting report with grades on all five tools, honest feedback on where he stands, and a custom development plan.
Diamond Edge was created by Matt Hogan — a professional baseball player who's spent his entire life in the game. Matt committed to Vanderbilt University as a high school freshman and by graduation was ranked the No. 1 outfielder in New York.
Over three years at Vanderbilt, Matt earned a National Championship ring with the Commodores. After a year at South Carolina, he transferred to Oral Roberts — where he became the cleanup hitter for the 2023 Cinderella team that punched its ticket to the College World Series in Omaha. That season he hit .320 with 19 home runs and 71 RBIs, earning Third Team All-American honors from the NCBWA. He's also one of only two players in history to hit an inside-the-park home run at the College World Series.
Matt has played baseball in 44 of the 50 states — from the Futures Collegiate League, to two summers in the Northwoods League, to two seasons with the Chatham Anglers on the Cape Cod League. After college he played for the Rocky Mountain Vibes before signing with the Chicago White Sox organization in 2024, where he won Competitor of the Year for the organization. He's currently playing for the Long Island Ducks.
